the World. We invest in children, women, and communities to build an inclusive, sustainable
and vibrant societies in the United States and around the World.
Civic Aid has a particular focus on youth well-being in the United States. We are dedicated to
empowering youth to lead healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives. We believe in creating
inclusive spaces where young individuals are supported holistically, with a focus on mental
health, physical wellness, emotional development, and social engagement.

Problem Statement

In today’s rapidly changing world, young people face a variety of challenges that threaten their
overall well-being. These challenges include mental health struggles such as depression and
anxiety, increasing rates of substance abuse, difficulties in academic achievement, bullying, and
social isolation. The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated these issues, leading to
greater disconnection, heightened stress, and a surge in youth facing emotional distress.
Despite growing recognition of these problems, many communities still lack sufficient resources
or structured programs to address these needs. The lack of accessible mental health services,
guidance for navigating adolescence, and structured physical activity programs put young
people at risk of long-term negative outcomes. Without early intervention, these issues can lead
to chronic problems such as substance abuse, diminished academic performance, and poor
career outcomes, which undermine individual potential and collective community well-being.
The youth of Denver Metro, just as in most Communities across the United States face these
challenges.
